I know this is a small problem in the grand scheme of things, but it's doing my head in :)

My interior lights on the passenger side are constantly set dimmer than the drivers side, if I set them to brightest (using the button) when I next come back to the car they're dim again. Plus the main interior light is also set at mid brightness, even if I also set it brightest.

The upshot is, the passenger side is cloaked in darkness when the drivers side is bright, a pain when I'm looking for something in the garage!

I've read the manual, looked around on iDrive. can't find any passenger side setting for lighting and nothing I change seems to change the setting.

Either everyone else has never noticed this, or my car is unique, anyone got any ideas?

They should become brighter if you open the passenger door, a bit inconvenient admittedly.

Well at least that's the way it works on mine... conversely if i open either of the nearside doors the interior lights on that side are brighter than those on the drivers side.

That might just make sense... although why it also sets the central interior light to the mid point as well seems odd...

Other than the dash display, I didn't realise that you can adjust the brightness of the interior lights. I assumed that they were just on or off. You learn something every day. ;)

Yeah, the switch is dim/bright/off - so has three positions. As does the centre light, but it annoying always defaults to dim...

I have the lights package, but mine are just on/off. Whilst I was checking I did notice a green light came on several times for a few seconds on the SOS button.
I have a similar annoying problem though with the blind for the pano roof. I keep finding it 6"/9" from fully back, but not every time. I use both keys whichever comes to hand, and I certainly can't link it to one key in particular.
